Through Etiquette, Protocol, Intercultural, and Civility training, we help the next generation of professionals develop the communication and soft skills they need to become successful leaders.


Candace N. Johnson is the founder and principal consultant of EPIC Leaders Etiquette. Prior to launching EPIC Leaders, Candace spent time as a training consultant for Tero International. In addition to her training and consulting work, Candace is a public servant. As a Protocol Officer in the diplomatic gifts unit at the U.S. Department of State, Candace ideates, proposes, procures, and reports gifts given on behalf of the President, Vice President, First Lady, Second Gentleman, and Secretary of State. Candace previously served as the Deputy Director of the White House Visitors Office where she welcomed thousands of visitors to the People’s House. She has a background in events and operations and previously worked as a Scheduler on Capitol Hill.
A leader in her community, Candace was crowned Miss Black D.C. US Ambassador in 2018, and she is a past member of the board of directors for PBY, Inc., a mentoring organization. Candace received her bachelor’s degree from Howard University where she was an undergraduate member of Alpha Kappa Psi Professional Business Fraternity. She earned dual master’s degrees from Syracuse University. Originally from Memphis, Tennessee, Candace enjoys taking bass guitar lessons and breaking out in song on random occasions.
